FREE activities for children and young people in West Devon are on offer this February half term to blow away the winter blues.
Since summer 2008, West Devon Borough Council has been using its £200,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund to provide free activities for hundreds of children across West Devon.
This half term, local groups have programmes of free fun-filled activities and events on offer.
Okehampton Community Recreation Association is running two OCRA Action Outreach Sport and Art sessions on Monday February 15, in Bratton Clovelly (10am to noon) and Highampton (1.30 pm to 3.30 pm) for 6 to 16 year olds. The Princetown Opportunity for Play (POP) project has two activities planned in Princetown. These are hip hop and break dancing on Tuesday February 16 (3pm to 5pm) for those aged 12 to 18, and creating a funky animal doorstop craft session on February 17 (1pm to 4pm) for those aged eight to 13, both at the Princetown Village Centre. The Tavistock Youth Café 'Playing Up' project has recycled art and dream catcher workshops, for those aged eight to 11 years old, on Monday February 15, 10am to 1pm at Bere Alston United Reform Church Hall, February 17, 10am to 1pm at Horrabridge Youth Club and February 19, 10 to 1pm at Tavistock Primary School hall. Style Factor — recycled fashion with a difference, for those aged eleven to 13 years old, on Monday February 15, 2.30pm to 5.30pm at Bere Alston United Reform Church Hall, February 17, 2.30pm to5.30pm at Horrabridge Youth Club and February 19, 2.30pm to 5.30pm at Tavistock Youth Club.
