A FAMILY holiday to Jamaica on Valentine?s Day was the special golden wedding treat for Whitchurch couple Arthur and Rose Channon.
The couple experienced a trip of a lifetime and on their return had a meal for family and close friends at the Blacksmiths Arms in Lamerton to mark the actual anniversary date of March 6.
Arthur and Rose Channon were married at Calstock Parish Church five years after they met at Cotehele Quay where their parents used to go salmon fishing.
Mr Channon was a self employed builder before his retirement and his wife worked at the former chip basket factory in Calstock.
They have a son and a daughter and five grandchildren.
The couple have lived in Whitchurch for 21 years but before that had a home in Bere Alston where Mr Channon played football for the local team for many years.
