THERE?s an opportunity for young people in the Tavistock area next week, when they can find out the latest news on the exciting project to create a youth café in the town.
Tavistock Youth Council, which is spearheading the youth café project, is holding its annual meeting in the town?s old magistrates? court on Monday, July 12 and would like to see as many young people as possible at the event.
Bethan Waddington, 14, is the council secretary. She said the youth council aimed to put young people in Tavistock ?in the driving seat? and to find out what they really wanted out of life in the town.
The youth café, which will be situated in Pixon Lane, behind the Youthwize offices, is being created after a survey carried out among young people by the council revealed a real desire for such a
facility.
The council hopes the café will be up and running by the end of the year.
Tavistock Youth Café annual meeting starts at 7pm ? all young people are welcome ? refreshments available.
