THE Mount House boys first and second VIIs played two tough hockey matches against St Peter's this week.
The first VII conceded three goals in the first half, and although they threatened the St Peter's goal several times, were unable to strike back. After the break, the home side raised their game, moving more quickly between attack and defence, but they were still unable to score. St Peter's added one more to complete a 4-0 win.
The Mount House second VII put in a great team performance, gaining the share of possession, but failing to convert it to goals. Although Alex Ferguson held up the ball well in attack, the midfield was unable to link up in the opponents' circle. The Mount House build-up play from the back was good, as was the defence orchestrated by Ben Hoolash. Chances at both ends produced a highly entertaining match, but neither side was able to score and it ended as a 0-0 draw.
