The Bere Local History Group is relaunching this Spring.
Everyone is welcome to join them for a hands-on Launch Day for all the family on Saturday March 12 from 2pm until 4.30pm.
The event will be in the Parish Hall in Bere Alston.
Everyone is welcome to discover more of the fascinating history of the peninsula and parish, as well as learn of the group’s plans for the future.
If your interest is in how nature and industry have shaped the Tamar Valley landscapes or wish to explore the shops, people and societies of Bere Alston and Ferrers, this event is for you.
Two talks are scheduled for the afternoon and there’ll be a chance to meet the committee and to sign up for free 2022 membership of the BLHG, which will give access to the programme of talks and other events planned for later this year, including emails about local history and a newsletter.
Displays will give attendees a chance to discover some of our archive collection and to learn more about the Bere peninsula’s history.
Among the topics highlighted will be local shops, community life and societies, market gardening and the longstanding primary school. Refreshments will also be on offer.
Launch plans also include an opportunity to suggest a new logo for the group and win a prize.
