TAVISTOCK Hire faced third division opponents Steampacket and with the wind and slope with them in the first half they raced into a 3-0 lead in this second round tie.

The first came from a cross from Mark Wallace and headed in by Shaun Moloney before the second came shortly after when a good run from Des Newton ended with him sliding the ball into an empty net.

With Will Pike controlling the midfield, Tavistock got there third when a Dan Behanna shot was deflected into Steampacket's net.

The second half started poorly for Tavi Hire with Steampacket getting an early gaol after a blunder by Craig Mulholland. Steampacket netted their second with five mins left and Hire conceded a third with the last kick of the game.

With extra time to play Tavistock were reduced to 10 players and eventually lost 3-5.
