TAVISTOCK Volunteer Centre marked the start of National Volunteers? Week 2007 with a stall in Bedford Square last week. Geoffrey Cox, MP for West Devon and Torridge, has congratulated the Volunteer Centres in Okehampton and Tavistock for the important work they do in placing volunteers with organisations that make vital contributions to rural communities, and who provide excellent support and advice for individuals who are already volunteers. Mr Cox said: ?Volunteering is essential to the health of our society and I hope that, particularly during Volunteers? Week, others will be inspired to give up their time to help others.?
