HIGH energy Celtic folk rock band Mad Dog Mcrea will be returning to Tavistock to headline a show at the Wharf on Easter Saturday, April 7. Their combination of guitar, bass and drums with fiddle, banjo, flute and whistle along with uniquely powerful Irish vocal presence has earned them a following second to none in the South West. The last time the full band played an event in Tavistock was when they packed 'Kings' in 2004. Since then, they have been touring extensively, both in the UK and overseas, and have released their third album 'Sophisticated Hat Manoeuvres' on Cough Records, with lead tracks attracting attention from both BBC Radios 1 and 2. Opening the evening at The Wharf will be 'Jules and Amie's Basement', the four piece 'gypsy folk' act fronted by Tavistock's own Jules Irvine. Doors: 8 pm Tickets: £5 in advance and £6 on the door from The Wharf box office, 01822 611166.
