While last year's sixth formers at Mount House School were working hard to win scholarships and pass common entrance to progress to their first choice secondary schools, the school itself was drawing high praise from both the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), and Ofsted, following inspections by both bodies.

The inspectors said that at Mount House pupils of all abilities and needs achieve excellently in their academic studies and extra-curricular activities.

They make strong progress in all parts of the school, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), developing strongly positive attitudes, with an excitement in education, and acquire strong learning skills.

After a rigorous inspection of boarding facilities, Ofsted inspectors assessed the provision at Mount House as 'Outstanding'. They went on to say that children very much enjoy it at Mount House. There is an excellent balance between learning and having the freedom to play and have fun.
