AN exhibition of works by more than 70 artists staged by The Dartmoor Trust has been declared an outstanding success.
The exhibition, held at Delamore in Cornwood, includes two rooms full of works of art, plus sculptures in a garden setting. It has attracted many visitors and will continue to run until May 31.
Paintings on display include works by Brendan Neiland, Annie Ovenden, Michael Morgan and Pip Benveniste.
Sculptures by Dominic Welsh, Bridget McCrum, Nicholas Dimbleby, Mark Coreth and Rosie Musgrave can been seen in the gardens.
A spokesman for the Dartmoor Trust said: ?A considerable number of paintings and sculptures have already been sold and for every work of art sold, the Dartmoor Trust will receive a proportional contribution to fund its work on Dartmoor and the new Dartmoor Archive.?
The Trust, based at the High Moorland Centre in Princetown, aims to protect and conserve the Dartmoor landscape through the provision of financial support for some 20 projects on and around the moor.
The Trust is also in the process of creating a Dartmoor Archive website, which it hopes will be operational within the next few weeks.
The exhibition marks the establishment of a semi-permanent gallery space at Delamore for future exhibitions, plus a permanent sculpture garden which will be open to the public.
