In division one of the Okehampton Netball League the ever-victorious Hi-Line pilfered another win off the Magpies. Hi-Line played their usual fast paced game with few errors against a competitive Magpies whose efforts did not show in the final score of Hi- Line 53 Magpies 23. Players of the match: Katie Chaffey (Hi-Line) Caroline Drew (Magpies). Quicksilver had a slow start to their match against Hotshots but eventually Quicksilver took control in the second half and ended up winning 41-20. Poms: Sue Farrell (Quicksilver) Becky Woollacott (Hotshots). In division two Sprites once again used their experience from last season to prove that they still may have a chance in this year's promotion. Red Devils played well though to keep half score to help them with points in the league table so the final result was 31-19 in favour of Sprites. Poms: Jo Drake (Sprites) Jackie Davy (Red Devils). Pink Panthers also proved that they are a force to be reckoned with this season with their 26-14 victory over Ladybirds. Poms: Amy Cooper (Pink Panthers) Hannah Whiteley (Ladybirds). In division three Lifton Ladies had a good win over Maltesers by 28-19, with players of the match going to Tori Bareham (Lifton Ladies) and Gemma Anstey (Maltesers). Sugar and Spice had a close match against Bradford Belles; the Belles were persistent but were unfortunate not to be able to out at the end, with the final score Sugar and Spice 31 Bradford Belles 28. Poms: Sarah Liversidge (Sugar and Spice) Angie Davies (Bradford Belles). On January 29 Sprites had a close game against FBI, with the shooters on each team being put under pressure. The final score saw FBI wining 32-28. Poms: Sally Hutchings (FBI), Anna Henderson-Smith (Sprites). Also in division one Phoenix put up a good fight against Speedwells, although in the end it was Speedwells who won 38-22. Poms: Carol Chapman (Speedwells) Emily Herbert (Phoenix). Hi- Line once again showed that they deserve their second place in the league with a win over Quicksilver 39-13. Poms: Lyndsay Merrett (Hi-Line) Jacinta Lewis (Quicksilver). Red Devils had a better week to beat Groovy Chicks 28-18. Poms: Linda Curtis (Red Devils) Clare Parsons (Groovy Chicks). Dodgers had a convincing win, which will put them in contention for promotion at the end of the season, to score 56-12 against Ladybirds. Poms: Liz Ash (Dodgers) Sheevaun Manning (Ladybirds). Bradford Belles also had a better week to beat Falcons Juniors by 38-9. Poms: Sue Manners (Bradford Belles) Hayley Curtis (Falcons Juniors).
