YOUNG parents from around Tavistock are being invited to join a new group which aims to offer a helping hand.
Children's charity Barnardo's South West will provide free advice relating to parenting skills, health and safety, employment and training.
The group will meet at Tavistock Youth Café in Pixon Lane every Friday from 11am to 1pm.
This is the latest service offered by the Tavistock Children's Centre, which is managed by the charity on behalf of Devon County Council.
Barnardo's South West project worker Angela Westlake said: 'At the moment our services are mainly accessed by older adults, so we wanted to encourage younger adults to join us as well.
'We want the parents to have a say in what they would like to do and what matters to them. They might want us to offer keep-fit classes or other activities. This is just one aspect of our work to help and support local parents.'
