THIRTEEN walkers of all ages set off from Kit Hill to trek to Bere Alston Train Station in a bid to raise funds to help a small African village.
Julie Overnell and a group of friends and family walked the 16.2-miles via Luckett and Morwellham in the annual walking event raising money for FUM — a small charity raising money and facilitating projects in Tanzania. This year’s appeal is to raise £20,000 to help the village of Imambo in Tanzania complete their clinic buildings and to install rainwater harvesting to ensure a clean source of water.
Julie and her husband have been involved with FUM since the 90s. She has organised the local walk for the past four years.
Julie expressed thanks to everyone who walked and to all who gave sponsorship. Anyone wishing to donate can still do so by visiting https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/julieovernell3
