I DECIDED to re-visit my family tree as none of us are getting any younger. Now my children are older I have a little more time for endeavours such as this. I thought it would be nice for us all to have some historical awareness of our extended family, before more of the family shuffles off of the mortal coil. My father's name is Arthur Williams and he had eleven siblings. His father was called William and his mother was called Mary Queenie (née Luscombe) Williams. Arthur left the family home when he was about 12 and went to London. After some short time he joined the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm). William was born in Tavistock on or around 1890 and died in December 1952. Mary Queenie Luscombe was born in 1900 in Tavistock and died in 1978 also in Tavistock. William Williams was a tenant farmer on Highland Farm, Whitchurch, near Tavistock. My father's siblings are all deceased bar two, I believe, and he has little to no contact with them. They are: Anne Williams, Bernard Williams, John Luscombe (step-brother), Peggy Williams, Harold Williams (1923 – ), Frank Williams (1926 – ), Gerold (or maybe Gerald) Williams (1927 – ), Arthur Williams (1928 – ), Benjamin S Williams (1929 – ), Pearl Williams (1931 – ), Robin E Williams (1934 – ), David Williams (1935 – ) We have found some records for some of the siblings, birth and census information, unfortunately though we are missing a lot of information. Only Pearl and Anne are still living as far as we know. Anne is now Anne Lutner and lives in the USA. Pearl is known as Liz Wilkinson. My great-grandfather I believe was called John Williams and his wife called Grace. This information comes from a record of William's Baptism in 1890, hand-written in the England & Wales, Non-Conformist and Non-Parochial Registers, 1567-1970. I believe this to be correct. I am looking for any more information on our family including documentary evidence, photographs, word of mouth, anything really, so that I can add it to the family tree for my children, and hopefully their children to have some accurate historical record.
