Exbourne Local History Group is looking for help from the community to help compile a comprehensive history of the village.

On Saturday July 7, the group is holding an open day at Exbourne Village Hall, inviting the public to bring any documents or artefacts relating to the village and the people who once lived there.

Having gleaned as much information as they can from the Devon Record Office, the Westcountry Studies Library and local library, the group is now reaching out to the community for help to continue compiling its records.

The trades, occupations and buildings are of particular interest to the group, but it is also keen to hear stories about the village's former residents.

The group's committee and researchers will be on hand to record any information given.

The open day is from 10am to 3pm.
