THE newly-elected Princetown Carnival committee has launched a desperate plea for donations from individuals and organisations in West Devon to help ensure the future of the carnival.
Sarah Taylor, secretary of the Princetown carnival committee, says they are in desperate need of donations, which may be in the form of items for raffling or prizes, or even the donation of old bridesmaids? or wedding dresses.
?We have had to resort to asking for help so as to stop our carnival being a past legacy,? said Mrs Taylor.
?This year?s carnival was a success, but with help we can make it even better,? she added.
Mrs Taylor said the new committee were hoping to include a carnival queen next year.
?As a youngster, I myself always wanted to be the queen. So please let our children?s dream be that of reality and donate your old dresses or any other items,? she said.
Anyone who would like to donate items to the committee is asked to contact Mrs Taylor on 01822 890738.
