EIGHT cadets from 2312(Tavistock) Squadron enjoyed a hectic week at RAF Halton, the recruit training facility of the RAF.
The Tavistock party joined 39 young people from all over Plymouth and Cornwall to take part in a programme of activities that included orienteering, shooting small and full bore rifles, a high ropes course, catering and supply training, a night exercise and a visit to the RAF Museum at Hendon.
The cadets were accompanied by squadron adjutant Flt Lt John Olver and civilian instructor Shaun Reid, who was attending camp for the first time.
The cadets were able to tour trenches from the first world war that have been excavated and rebuilt as they would have been for the soldiers who trained in the grounds of Halton House before they went to the Western Front.
Recreation time was spent bowling, at the station cinema and at an end of camp social.
The cadets expressed thanks to the Air Cadets Liaison Team at RAF Halton for organising their camp.
The squadron is looking for young adults aged 13 to 16 to join the team.
