Jewson South Western League Cup Quarter Final

Tavistock . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2

Plymouth Parkway . . . . . . . . . . .5

The Lambs went out of their second cup competition in the space of four days suffering their heaviest defeat of the season.

The game was one each right up until the stroke of half time and then things changed dramatically for the Lambs.

Lee Cansfield had given them the lead from the penalty spot on 28 minutes after Dave Powell had sent Chris Gott sprawling.

Parkway equalised five minutes later as Mark Conday made room for himself on the edge of the area before firing past Andy Meeds. Conday then took advantage of hesitancy in the Lambs' defence to burst into the area and as he went across the goal, Meeds in an attempt to reach the ball, caught his ankle with his trailing arm.

The penalty was never contested but when the official pulled out the red card for the keeper it just seemed a very harsh decision.

Captain Mark Wall took over in goal and the first thing he had to do was pick the ball out of the net after Mark Young converted the spot kick.

With the Lambs down to ten men Parkway took control in the second half as Ryan Lawton chested down a 40 yard pass before blasting pass Wall.

Conday then won a midfield ball to set up Wade Price to score from the edge of the area before Conday completed the Parkway scoring curling a shot past wall from 12 yards.

Tavistock got a late consolation as Dean Tongue forced the ball home at the second attempt.

All that remains now for the Lambs is to maintain their mid table position and hopefully climb further up to finish in a highly respectful place.
