A SLIGHTLY disappointing world cup event in Cairo for Tavistock modern pentathlete Heather Fell was followed up by a second placing overall at the Budapest Indoor Championships last weekend. Heather managed to push herself up to 16th at the world cup after a strong ride and run and came in as the second Brit. She had been lying in 30th place after the shooting and fencing events. Some 56 pentathletes from around the world competed in the cup. Thirty two athletes from ten nations took part in the indoor championships in Budapest in Hungary and Heather was delighted with her second placing. She is now in the French Pyrenees for two weeks of altitude training. Heather's Olympic dream is still alive but she will have to come in the top six and the top eight in two of the three world cup events coming up. The next will be at Millfield School near Street in Somerset on March 30 where she is hoping she will get plenty of support.
