THIRTY walkers took part in the annual sponsored walk across Dartmoor, organised by the British Heart Foundation at the end of last month. The Tavistock branch of the committee were delighted by the support shown at their 17th walk on the moors, which started from Lane End, Willsworthy on Sunday, September 30. The youngest walker was Sean Donnelly, eight, who walked the five mile route with his grandfather Brian. Kris Budge, branch secretary, said: ?This event is one of our most popular and we are grateful to everyone who supports it, year upon year. ?We are particularly grateful to the walk leaders ? Simon Dell, five mile, and Rosemary and Graham Clarke, ten mile. They have turned out for every one of our 17 walks and we could not run the event without them.? Funds raised will go towards furthering the aims of the foundation and also raising funds to purchase cardiac equipment, which will be donated to local groups.
