PEOPLE are being urged to attend community consultation events taking place soon in villages around Hatherleigh to have a say in their future.
The dates for the Hatherleigh Market and Coastal Towns Initiative roadshow have now been confirmed.
This an opportunity for everyone in Exbourne, Jacobstowe, Broadwoodkelly, Monkokehampton, Iddesleigh, Meeth, Highampton, Inwardleigh, Northlew, Beaworthy, Bratton Clovelly and Germansweek, to put their views forward on how they want their communities to develop.
These events will take the form of an interactive display where issues such as transport, young people, farming, employment, communications, housing, shopping, recreation, services and lots more may be raised.
The views will be collated to form part of an action plan for the Hatherleigh area over the next few years which will receive funds under the South West Regional Development Agency's Market and Coastal Towns Initiative.
Events will be held as follows: March 22, Highampton Village Hall (3.30pm to 5.30pm and 7pm to 9pm); March 22 and 23 Exbourne Village Hall (9.30am to 8pm and 9.30am to 12pm); March 25, Bratton Clovelly Village Hall (3.30pm to 8.30pm); March 26, Northlew Village Hall (3.30pm to 7pm); March 28, Patchacott Village Hall (11am to 12pm) and Monkokehampton Village Hall (6pm to 9pm.)
'We would like to encourage everyone in the area to take the opportunity to attend the nearest Market and Coastal Town event to them,' said Mr Coffin.
'For example, the residents of Broadwoodkelly and Iddesleigh will be made very welcome at the Monkokehampton or Exbourne exhibition.'
The village community events will be followed by a larger consultation day in Hatherleigh in April where a consensus of views will be built.
