FORGET pushing through crowded streets for those last minute Christmas bargains — how about the peace and quiet of Roadford Lake for some inspiration?

For the first time this year, South West Lakes Trust has opened its gift shop and tea room throughout the winter, which have a wide range of crafts and gifts on offer — plus a refreshing cuppa.

Manager Chris Reynolds said: 'Being only minutes from the A30 means we are very easy to reach with none of the parking problems of the large towns and cities.

'We are keen to support local crafts and make sure we have plenty of variety on sale for all age groups.'

Another first for the Trust is the introduction of gift vouchers at the shop.

'It's an ideal present at any time of the year,' said Chris.

'We have a wide range of water-based activities as well as an exciting events programme for which the vouchers can be exchanged.'

The vouchers come in denominations of £5, £10 or £20 and are available from the gift shop.
