THERE?S a chance for West Devon youngsters to try their hand at playing brass instruments during their half term holiday next week, at two special workshops being held in the borough.
The events have been arranged in collaboration with Tavistock?s Stannary Brass Band and West Devon Community Safety Partnership, which awarded the band a grant to stage the event.
The workshops are being held at Bere Alston Village Hall on Monday February 16 and at the United Church Hall in Princetown on Thursday February 19.
Peter Jones, musical director of Stannary Brass, said: ?Any youngster who would like to have a go at a brass instrument or who would like more information about playing is welcome to come along.?
Mr Jones said the workshops are principally aimed at the eleven to 19 age group, but any young person with enthusiasm for brass instruments will be welcomed.
Both workshops will be open from 10am until 4pm. For more information, call Peter Jones on 07789 814796.
