EVER watched a televised triathlon and thought that you might like to have a go at such an event? Well, now is your chance to have a taste of the action as the Third Oke Triathlon will be taking place on Sunday July 27.

For the uninitiated, a triathlon involves swimming, cycling and running over a set distance.

The Oke Tri will require you to swim 300 metres at the park swimming pool, cycle to Whiddon Down and back, a distance of approximately 23k, finishing with a demanding 10k run.

Entry will cost £10 and forms are available from Okehampton swimming pool, Bostocks cycle centre or the arcade jewellers W J Pearsall.

If you wish to enter on the day it will cost £13 and registration takes place at Okehampton College at 8 am with the event starting at 9 am.
