South Devon League Div 4 Chagford Resrves 2 Bovey Tracey Reserves 3 CHAGFORD should be bitterly disappointed at losing this derby match That was settled by missed and taken chances - missed by the home side and those taken by their visitors. The first half was dominated by Chagford but, somehow, they contrived to reach the break goalless. Miller, Whatley, Williams and the Merttens brothers all managed to put goal attempts high or wide and Bovey?s keeper made some inspired saves. In midfield, Chagford had the better of the half and any troubles at the back were of their own making or through hesitancy. There was a feeling that Bovey could steal a goal and eventually a result. So it was, early in the second half they scored two simple but well executed goals and the home side looked beaten. Heads were raised when Whatley pulled one back but, before then and after, easier chances had again been spurned. Bovey pressed on to score a third and Harvey, in the home goal, kept diminishing hopes alive with a superb save. Whatley responded to this by scoring a simple tap-in but it was all too late, Chagford?s relegation fears looming closer.
