Dartmouth 5 Okehampton 1st XV 14 OKEHAMPTON faced a determined Dartmouth side with an enormous front five. With a few first choice players unavailable and in conditions which favoured the home side Okehampton found it hard work early on. Strength in depth told in the end though, with Okehampton capitalising on some early infringments and took a 6-0 lead through the boot of Andy Brimmacombe. They held on to this lead until just before half time when the Okehampton defence was breached leading to an unconverted try out wide. The first twenty minutes of the second half saw resolute defence from Okehampton against a side which beat second placed DHSOB two weeks ago. Fitness finally told when Andy Brimmacombe added another penalty followed by Tom Powell being held up over the line. Okehampton?s pack finally got on top of things and veteran Mark Curtis juggled the ball over the tryline to seal another well deserved victory for Okehampton. This week sees the return of Dartmouth to Okehampton in the quarter final of the Devon Junior Cup. Kick off: 2pm.
