A DAY of events, demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages to enjoy was staged at Princetown last weekend, as part of the Council for British Archaeology's Festival of Archaeology and the Association of National park's Campaign for National Parks Week, the theme of which is cultural heritage.
Visitors to Princetown were able to watch displays and re-enactments of Saxon and Viking life, including mock battles and cooking.
There were also guided walks, where the history of tin mining was explained, plus a visit to the prison war graves.
The skills of the blacksmith could be seen, plus demonstrations of spinning, pot moulding and stone splitting.
Music and dancing was provided by the Border Morris side and the children could enjoy storytelling and face painting.
