TAVISTOCK Guides have been doing their bit to help disaster relief agencies provide supplies to people in the aftermath of an international emergency.

Disasters around the world come in many forms ? cyclones, floods and earthquakes.

The most urgent task for relief agencies after a disaster is the provision of safe drinking water.

Rotary International runs a scheme whereby it supplies an Aquabox container suitable for holding water, plus a treatment kit, then asks people to fill the box with items which would be useful in an emergency.

Members of the 4th Tavistock Guides have recently been collecting all sorts of things to fill their box, everything from clothes, cooking utensils and candles to toothbrushes and soap.
