A PROJECT manager with a Calstock community interest company has been nominated for a Cornish business award.
Simon Platten, who works for Tamar Grow Local, which promotes sustainable local produce in the Tamar Valley, has been shortlisted for the contribution to environmental sustainability in the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP)Awards 2012.
Some 31 graduates have been shortlisted for nine awards and the winners will be announced tomorrow (Friday) at The Keay Theatre in St Austell.
The awards will also recognise the achievements of 160 graduates who have completed a UCP project with a Cornish business in the past eight months.
UCP is a Combined Universities in Cornwall programme, managed by Cornwall College and receives European Social Fund investment. The programme matches talented graduates with innovative Cornish businesses looking to grow, in order to fuel economic prosperity in the county.
The nominated graduates have all completed outstanding projects.
