AFTER celebrating its first successful year, the Tamar Community Futures group is forging ahead with new schemes, following the recent publication of its action plan for the area.

Key milestones for the group in the last year have been two well-attended community action days, followed by a roadshow attracting more than 500 people.

Completed projects during the last year include funding three feasibility studies for Bere Community ABC Nursery Project, Tamar and Tavy Gig Club and the Wheeled Area Sports Project (WASPS).

Funding from the initiative has also helped create the Tamar Valley Tourism Association website, St Ann?s Chapel skatepark, repairs to Weir Quay slipway and signs in Callington.

The group is currently inviting representatives from the voluntary, business and elected sectors to become members.
