Ground control to Whitchurch School . . .

ROCKETS were given a test flight following a talk about space at Whitchurch Primary School last week.

Clive Purchase, an astronomer from the Callington Space Centre, spent a day with the Year 5 class, showing a number of presentations about the planets and space travel.

In the afternoon every child was shown how to make a rocket out of cardboard and these were all given a test flight on his special launch pad.

The best rocket travelled the length of the playground and landed on the school roof.
