MAY DAY in Buckland Monachorum was celebrated in the village's community orchard, greeting the summer and forming part of the celebration marking the orchard's 15th anniversary. Not dampened in spirits by the wet morning, poetry was read with music accompaniment and participants later enjoyed breakfast at Drake Manor Inn, courtesy of landlady Mandy Robinson.
