I WAS delighted to read in last week's Times that West Devon Borough Council are selling green ribbons to help in the current foot and mouth crisis, on behalf of Devon Community Foundation.
We expect that all the money raised will be matched £ for £ by central government, and the total sum will be disbursed to voluntary organisations in West Devon who offer support to those most affected by the crisis.
The foundation will keep you and your readers closely informed about the progress of the green ribbon story as it develops.
The Times and West Devon Borough Council deserve every credit for taking this imaginative initiative.
