THOUGH the weather was fine Tavistock Golf Course played long for the ladies' monthly medal played in conjunction with the Grandmothers Cup.   This was reflected in the scores which resulted in reductions only.  

Kate Harding came in with a nett 74 to win the cup — it was a double celebration for Kate who, exactly one week before, became a grandmother for the first time!  

Other ladies who did well were — in division one Dawn Dennis with nett 75, with runner up Trudi Luke on nett 77;  in division two Julie Harding won with a nett 73, runner up was Kate Harding on nett 74. 

In the first round of the Daily Mail Foursomes June Kendall and Lyn Alderman had 35 points and in second place Sally Hills and Ruth Myott with 33 pts.  The date and venue for the next round is yet to be announced.

In division one the men's medal and Moorland Links Trophy: first was Richard Smith with a nett 64; second was Rod Hillman with a nett 71, third Ian Gauler with a nett 72.  In division two the first three places were on countback with John Hayward, Richard Horton and David Antony all on nett 77. 

In division three: 1, Robert Beveridge, nett 69,  2,  Roy Barnes nett 73 on countback from Marc Ninnis. 

The Whitsun Bowl was won by Colin Nolan in division one with a nett 68, second Rod Williams, nett 70, 3, George Gawman nett 71.  In division two, 1, Barry Tillyer with nett 70 on countback from Paul Vickers, 3, Robert Beveridge nett 71.
