VISITORS from the United States of America and Italy were among those to attend Throwleigh Fête and horticultural show last Saturday.

Community spirit was high with the egg-throwing competition and children’s races proving popular. Proceeds raised from the event will be used to maintain the village hall.

The horticultural show trophy winners were Joan White for the Fox-Pitt perpetual trophy for the vegetable classes, Barbara Cornford and Joan White who were joint winners of the Booth trophy for the flower classes, Dawn Hatton for home produce, Jane Collins for bread making, Jake Loram won the perpetual junior trophy and Dave Hatton the Throwleigh Archive tankard for photographs of life in Throwleigh.
