STAFF at Margaret Green Animal Rescue were delighted with the support they received for their Companion Dog Show and Fun Day recently.

Hundreds of visitors filled the Wingletang rescue and rehoming centre to show their support.

Events included a dog show consisting of both pedigree and novelty classes, which were hugely popular, as well as competitions, stalls, a raffle, barbecue and a busy cake stall.

Alan Ging, who has managed the centre with his wife Niki for 20 years, said: 'We were absolutely delighted with the turnout and everyone seemed to be smiling and enjoying themselves. We made a total of £2,457.70 which is just amazing — especially with the rain.

'We are hugely grateful to everyone who braved the weather to show their support and to all our volunteers who worked so hard to make the day a success.'
