TWO theatrical students from Yelverton and Bere Alston are to give a Royal performance at Buckingham Palace as part of the golden jubilee celebrations.

Christopher Johnson, 14, and Natasha Brennan, 13, are part of a group of eight of Plymouth Stagecoach Theatre Arts School's members who have been invited by Patti Boulaye — who founded the Support for Africa charity — to the Royal event on June 4.

The invitation resulted from their involvement in a star-studded charity spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall, where they appeared alongside superstars, including Cliff Richard, Gabrielle, Boney M and Uri Geller.

The youngsters will join a 3,000-strong gospel choir from performing arts schools all over the UK which will sing while travelling on foot the length of the Mall, before assembling at the Victoria Memorial — where the Queen will take her place for the final performance.

Christopher said singing at the Royal Albert Hall and seeing all the famous people had been 'really good' and he was excited at the prospect of singing in front of the Queen.

Natasha — who has been with the school for six years and likes the singing and dancing side — also said she was 'excited', although not nervous. 'It will be a big experience,' she said.

Christopher and Natasha will also be among those performing the guard of honour as the Queen drives back to Buckingham Palace from her celebration lunch.
