AN AUCTION of promises by Bridestowe Cricket Club has raised the fantastic sum of £1,800 for the club.

The auction at the Fox and Hounds boosted the club's coffers.

Chairman Neon Reynolds said: 'The tremendous success of the event was down to the Fox and Hounds, the hard work of the club organisation and the unbelievable generosity with which all those present bid for the wide variety of lots on offer.'

Mr Reynolds expressed thanks to the Fox and Hounds for hosting the event and providing free refreshments, to Cathy Fogerty, Heather Hatton and Gavin MacDougall for running the club organisation, and the local people and businesses who donated prizes for the event.
