A WEST Devon voluntary group is celebrating after receiving some much needed funding.
Tavistock and District Outdoor Education Forum has received a cash boost to ensure it can continue with its vital work.
The Devon Com-munity Foundation (DCF) has awarded the forum a grant of £750 from the Activistock fund to help with leader training, insurance and costs involved in running three Ten Tors teams.
The grant will ensure that Tavistock and District Outdoor Education Forum can continue its work providing good quality outdoor instruction to local groups art reasonable fees.
Oliver Boyce, chair of Tavistock and District Outdoor Education Forum, said: 'This grant will make a huge difference to people living in the local area.
'Thank you Devon Community Foundation.'
Laura Hewitt from DCF said: 'We are delighted to be able to support this fantastic group.
'It is groups like this working on the frontline that are so essential to our communities.
'It's what makes DCF so important, to ensure that together with donors and local groups, we can build strong and vibrant communities for everyone in Devon, both now and for the future.'
DCF supports hundreds of voluntary and community groups on the frontline helping local people in need to build better and more inclusive communities for everyone.
DCF has distributed nearly £9,000,000 to more than 2,700 projects across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay in the last nine years.
As one of the 53 Community Foundations in the UK, Devon Community Foundation is a catalyst for change, funding projects which are making a big difference to the lives of local people.
Devon Community Foundation is aiming to raise a further £10-million by 2017: reaching such a milestone would enable the foundation to allocate £1-million funding each and every year.
