HATHERLEIGH Market has been secured as the venue for a grand auction to aid the tsunami appeal, which is being organised by the Winsford Trust. The auction will take place on Saturday, February 5, and will be conducted by local auctioneer Andrew Varley. The deadline for donations is January 31. If you have any items you wish to donate for auction please contact the Winsford Centre on 01409 221470, Sandra Willetts on 01409 231537 or Charles Dumpleton on 01409 231302. For large items, organisers have asked people to inform them of their pledge but please store the items at home. Smaller items can be brought to the Winsford Centre at Halwill Junction on a Tuesday or Thursday. One local farmer has already become involved by pledging ten big bales of hay.
