MEMBERS of Princetown Karate Club proudly received their white belts recently after reaching their first grading.

The club, which practices the Bujinkai form of the martial art, was formed in January by black belt instructor Rick Hartigan, whose wife and daughter attend his classes.

About 20 members of all ages meet on Monday and Wednesday nights during term time, in the school hall at 6.30pm. Children finish at 7.30pm, while the adults continue until 8pm.

Rick, who works as a police officer, said the club was still looking for new members and anybody interested in taking up karate was welcome to turn up at a session.
