BITTEN by the running bug, Okehampton GP Nick Woodall is donning his trainers again in preparation for the Dublin Marathon on October 28.
Dr Woodall will be running in aid of the New Okehampton Hospital Appeal which was the charity to benefit from his first London Marathon in April.
Since joining the practice as a new partner at the beginning of the year, the doctor has shown that he is quite prepared to have a go at anything, including jumping into the River Lew with the Hatherleigh Walruses on New Year?s Day.
He said the idea to run a second marathon was to keep his fitness level up as well as raise much needed funds for the new hospital.
?I have always been aware that once I left medical college and stopped playing sports everything would go south towards my waistline so running marathons is a good way of keeping fit,? he said.
?The London Marathon was such good fun that I thought I would have a go at the Dublin one.?
Anyone who wants to sponsor Dr Woodall can make their donation at Okehampton Medical Centre.
