AN action-packed series of events at the National Trust's Lydford Gorge is set to keep people entertained this summer with walks, family activities, workshops and demonstrations.

Anyone with a creative flair can visit the gorge on July 29 and learn how to make a Saxon-style clay pot, brooch or cloak fastener.

The Woodland Explorer days on July 25 and August 22 will entertain youngsters and adults alike with woodland trails, outdoor games, badge making and bug spotting.

There will also be demonstrations and workshops run by the warden team, such as Fire Starting Through the Ages on August 4.

Catherine Maddern, visitor services manager for Dartmoor, said: 'With such a range of fantastic activities on offer, there will be something to appeal to every age and taste.'
