HURDWICK Golf Club held their English Golf Union gold medal on May 13 and the competition included a trophy for the player with the minimum number of putts.
A combination of perfect weather and a course in excellent condition helped to produce good scores.
Results in division 1 were: 1, J Archer 80-15-65; 2, H Bee 74-6-68; 3, R Backaller 89-17-72.
Division 2 was won by C Mercer 93-28-65; 2, N Tamblin 88-23-65; 3, B Golden 92-26-66.
The ladies produced some excellent results and the winner was S Wilson with 96-36-60; 2, H Husbands with 106-43-63; 3, A Samphier 107-40-67.
The overall medal tankard winner was Sue Wilson with her net 60.
The EGU gold medal was won by Colin Mercer who beat Jason Archer on count back over the last six holes and the putting trophy was won by Barry Golden with 28 putts.
The spring guest day was held in equally pleasant weather with an entry of more than 70 golfers.
The men's event was won by Adam Bridgewater with 40 points, followed by Tim Hawkins with 39 and D Nicholls with 37 points.
The ladies competition was won by Hilary Husbands with 35 points, second was Alena Wardle, with 34 and third was Annette Samphier with 32 points.
Six golfers shared the two's sweep, J Watters, T Hawkins, A Bridgewater, F Horton, D Phillott and L Porter.
