Hurdwick January competition results COLD, wind and frost have all had an effect on the three January competitions, but there have been some good scores despite these adverse factors. In the New Year?s Day competition, the winner was Steve Howells with an excellent 38 points. Phil Bryant was second with 32 points, followed by Darren Hill with 31. The best ladies? score came from Sally Arscott. Tony Wood was the leader in the midweek stableford, again with a first class 38 points. John Rea was second with 37 and Steve Howells third with 36. Finally the weekend competition was scheduled to be a medal but was changed to a stableford due to the weather conditions. Division one winner was Chris Dicker with 37 points, best men?s result of the day by quite a margin. Phil Bryant and Tony Pearson were second and third respectively, both with 34 points. In division two the winner was Paul Bryant with 31 points. Ray Hurle was second with 30 and Phil Millar third with 29. Chris Dicker and Tony Pearson shared the Twos sweep. The leading lady was Yvette Wood,with an excellent 37 points.
