WHILST I wholly support the letter (NHS reorganisation, May 12) and the call to our MP Geoffrey Cox, may I copy part of an e-mail from Mr Cox to myself when requesting he represent my view on the issue of the Forestry sell-off:-

'I was not elected as a delegate; I was elected to exercise my judgement on behalf of the people of Torridge and West Devon. I am certainly not a 'yes man', as the whips can testify. The 18th Century MP and philosopher Edmund Burke, who in many ways defined the role of a modern Member of Parliament and is usually quoted on these occasions, said: "Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion".'

So I say again, although I support wholeheartedly the call for him to support this cause, good luck!
