MEMBERS of Tavistock churches will join together in a walk of witness through the town on Good Friday, on April 14. The walk, organised by Tavistock Area Christians Together (TACT), will start at Bedford Square 10.15am and take in Abbey Bridge, Dolvin Road, Vigo Bridge, Brook Street, Duke Street, Russell Street and Plymouth Road, ending in the square once more, where a united service will be held at 11.15am. The walkers plan four stopping places for prayers and hymns, at Somerfield, outside the Old Folks? Rest Room, at the junction of West Street and Market Street and on the corner of Russell Street and Plymouth Road. Around 80 people are expected to join the walk, which will provide a time for quiet reflection on the significance of the first Good Friday.
