OKEHAMPTON U12s were drawn in a group with Exeter Chiefs, Exeter Saracens, Crediton and Totnes at a rugby festival at Plymstock and were looking for good results against teams they had played well against this season. After waiting a long time for their first match they must have still been asleep as a fired up Chiefs quickly put four scores onto a shell-shocked Okehampton side. The second half saw Okehampton put Chiefs under pressure for the rest of the game but with only a well taken individual try from Matt Johns to show for their efforts. The second match saw a complete change as Okehampton looked to make amends and they saw off Totnes by two tries to nil with scores from Kieran Mitchell and George Speak. They took their good form into the following game where they dominated Crediton in a three tries to nil victory with scores from James Woodham, Tom Fogarty and Henry Cooper. The last match in the group was against Saracens who were unbeaten in the group games so far. Okehampton matched Saracens in all areas but errors in defence and attack were costly as Saracens secured a three tries to nil victory to top the group. The next positions in the group required a calculator as Okehampton, Totnes and Exeter Chiefs all ended up with four points each. In the end it went down to points difference with Totnes getting second, Chiefs getting third and Okehampton fourth with Crediton bringing up the rear. Okehampton had another long wait for their match in the Vase play-off against Tiverton which again played against them as Tiverton scored two quick easy tries. A spirited fightback saw Okehampton dominate the rest of the game but they could not cross the Tiverton line.
