A SHEEPDOG nursery trial was held at Chillaton Barton, Chillaton by kind permission of Ian Bickle. It rained, blew a gale, hailed and threatened snow and finished practically in the dark but a very good day was had by all.
The judge for the Maltese Cross was Hilary Jones, Broadbury, Okehampton and 34 ran.
Results: Points out of 70. 1, Jed Watson with Gail on 67 points; 2, Jed Watson, Craig, 62; 3, Jed Watson, Bill, 62. In the young handlers three ran but all retired.
The judge in the driving was Jenny Holdsworth from Mortonhampstead and nine ran. Points out of 90 (no shed, due to lack of daylight hours), 1, Mavis Backhouse, with Polly, 74pts; 2, Ian Bickle, Jack 52.
