OVER the years Tavistock Golf Club has raised many thousands of pounds for charity. The two charities, who this year's captain supported, were the Oncology department at Derriford Hospital and the Devon Air Ambulance.  At the club's annual cocktail party cheques for £3,620 were presented to members of each unit.  'I was delighted to have raised a total of £7,240 for these two very worthwhile causes.' said club captain Tony Sherlock. 'For all the wrong reasons both play a very prominent part in our everyday lives and, therefore, it has given me great pleasure that the golf club has so generously supported these units.  Words cannot say how grateful I am for their support.'
